Minutes of Monthly Meeting 10th August 2017 at Nigg Police Station

Present; Nigg CC, Chair, Alan Strachan, James Brownhill, Jenny Gall, Moira Hay, Aurelie Irvine, Alison Lawrence, Margaret Strachan, Greg Strange.

Item 1; Opening – Chair welcomed attendees. Apologies; Gordon Anderson, Jan Harby, Philip  Sellar.

Item 2; Minutes and Agenda – Minutes of last meeting accepted.

Item 3;  Police  Report – No representative of Police Scotland present.

Item 4;  Mail In – 1, Lidl continue to go through planning process for new supermarket.
2 – Bob McKinney (Police Scotland). Crimestoppers summer campaign re rise in  drink driving in North Scotland. Crimestoppers encourage members of the public to pass on any information re drink drivers. All calls are anonymous and cannot be traced.
Bob  McKinney  (Police Scotland) Intolerance of hate crime and terrorist attacks.
Bob McKinney (Police Scotland) Trading Standard Officers alerted to scams. Public advised not to buy from door to door traders.
3 – Notification of speed restriction on Wellington Road.
4 – Promotion of Highland Military Tattoo, Inverness 8th-10th September. Saturday  matinee and shuttle bus available.
5 – Wellington Road Corridor- Hugh Murdoch and Pete Leonard had previous meetings with Alan Strachan. Alan now to meet  with  Andrew Robb. Update - Consultation results being analysed.

Item 5; Planning Matters – None.

Item 6; Roads – None

AOB – Alan informed meeting that the 4 Community Councils are withdrawing from the Energy for Waste Plant stakeholders meetings.

Next meeting  7pm 14th September 2017 at Nigg Police Station.
